The answer to this question does not always come down to who shows the cheapest per minute rates for their long distance service.

There are a few variables that you need to pay attention to in your search for the best long distance service provider to meet your personal or business needs.

• Interstate long distance rates versus in state, regional, or local toll calling rates:  Depending on your personal or business calling patterns, the company that touts the lowest interstate rates may turn out to be a poor choice for you.  Most carriers have higher in state calling rates than interstate rates.  Some customers may even find that it's cheaper to use a dial around service for local long distance calls.
  
• Monthly fees:  The long distance carriers that we work with have either NO monthly fees or they have fees that are significantly lower than AT&T, MCI, and Sprint.  And these fees are often waived if a customer uses a certain amount of long destance, i.e. only $15.00 in calls with at least one carrier eliminates the monthly fee.
